Jeff the Brotherhood brings their fun, energetic, heavy, slightly punkish rock to Burgerama 4 at The Observatory March 28 and March 29. Check the venue to find out which day/time they will be performing.

The two-piece band features brothers Jake Orrall (guitars/vocals) and Jamin Orrall (drums).

“We started playing music mainly because we grew up out in the country and there was like only one kid that lived in a five mile radius and he was kind of an asshole,” Jake laughed. “He wasn’t an asshole, he was just mean to us.”

They’ve put out numerous albums, with their latest, “Wasted On the Dream” due at the end of March.

About half of the songs on the upcoming album are played with a six-string guitar. They also had their friend, Jack Lawrence, (The Greenhornes, Raconteurs, The Dead Weather) play bass on the record.

“We thought it would be fun to record the record as a three piece,” Jake said. “It has a lot more meat with a bass, you know?”

They took a year off to write and make the upcoming album as opposed to rushing to put something out like they did last time with 2012’s “Hypnotic Nights”.

“We didn’t have enough time, we were on tour, we literally made that record in five days then went back on the road,” Jake laughed. “They were sending us mixes and we were listening in the van while we were touring.

“I’d only written like eight songs for it. Four of the songs on the record I wrote when I was 19!”

The new album was completed last April and slated for release in September. But, their record label, Warner Bros. decided to wait until after the New Year instead of releasing it in the winter.

“It’s done, it’s awesome, and it’s our best record yet! It even tops ‘We Are Champions’ which was previously our best record,” Jake taunted.

As the two brothers continue to morph their sound ever so slightly, the upcoming tour will feature two guitarists, bass, drums and possibly a wizard.
