German metal queen, Dorothee Pesch, aka Doro, will unite head bangers at the Whisky A Go Go on March 18.

Doro promises to play only the best of the best songs from her 17 albums going back to the 80s with German metal band, Warlock.

“I can’t wait to come to Anaheim. It’s been a long time,” Doro enthused.

“We will play only the highlights of the last 17 records. A lot of Warlock stuff. I got the rights to the name back after a long time so we can play whatever we want.”

Her live shows can range in length and the sets can vary in reaction to what an audience seems to want to hear on any given night. But she usually likes to start off with a lot of 80s songs to get everyone up and going.

“No filler, only chiller,” Doro laughed.

She often plays some of the newer songs, too, such as, “Raise Your Fist,” “Revenge,” and “Hero” from her solo albums.

“These songs are all very much liked by the fans, so they will be in the set,” Doro said.

“’All We Are’ is one of the best songs to really heat up the place.

“When everybody is going crazy, singing along, and I look at their faces and they have really wet faces, everything is loud and it’s so nice.

“Usually we play ‘All We Are’ at the end of the set. Everybody is usually happy. It’s like the icing on the cake!”

Another song she has fun playing live is “Raise Your Fist”.

“I always ask the people to show me your fist and then when there are hundreds or thousands of fists up in the air, it’s such a great picture.“

When she first began singing and playing in bands, she had no idea how hard it could get to last in the music industry, thinking that it would only be fun.

Now she’s often referred to as the reigning Queen of Metal due to her longevity and continued success.

“I’m just a metal head,” Doro confessed.

“I am so happy to be a part of the metal scene. I love metal in all facets. I always have, and I always will. I’m just happy to be one of them.”

Although she hasn’t played Southern California for a number of years, she has continued to play regularly throughout the rest of the world.

“Every concert is the most important concert. It doesn’t matter if it’s a club, festival, big venue, or small bar. I always give it my best. I always give it 180%,” Doro said.

“But in a small club it’s so cool. It’s really, really good.

“There’s a deeper connection there, you can feel the people, you can feel their sweat when they’re head banging.

“You can look into each other’s eyes. That’s sometimes not possible in a big festival setting.”

A few months ago, Doro played an East Coast tour. Now, it’s time for metal fans on the West Coast to check out her music and live show.

“I always feel that I go out there to perform in front of my best friends,” Doro said.

“Every concert is a highlight in my life. I always want to treat every concert as if it could be my last and give people something overwhelming that they will never forget.”
